In January 2017, The French Community Club was founded at the request of the Community Development Authority following the new regulations laws regarding all social organizations.

This non-profit association welcomes not only the French but also the Francophones and Francophiles with an interest in France, as well as French associations. She is supported by the French Consulate in Dubai and French Embassy in Abu Dhabi as well.

She has also developed a partnership with The Alliance Française Dubai, which promotes French culture and language, established since 1982 in Dubai with more than 2500 students and 50 events per year.

We were able to found it thanks to the participation of the two very active associations in Dubai for many years :

  • The Union of French Abroad (UFE)
  • The Amicale of the Savoyards in UAE (ASEAU),

which raised the funds needed to fund the French Community Club as requested.

Throughout the year, the dynamic team of volunteers meets and offers various social activities, fun and sports, dinners, outings to discover the traditions and culture of the Emirates, networking, information conferences and lost of others activities.

WHY ?

The Community Development Authority (CDA) was founded in July 2008 by a decree of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai. He is responsive for setting up and developing a social development network, and aims to achieve the goals outlined in the Dubai Strategic Plans.

The CDA regulates and provides licensing services to non-profit Civil Society Organizations and associations, which organize ongoing social, cultural, artistic or entertainment activities. This is to regulate the activities of Civil Society Organization and associations and to monitor the quality of services they offer to the general public.
